Ancillary Text 1 – Film Poster

For this ancillary task we was asked to create a film poster for our film. below is our film poster campaign (with feedback), poster developmental stages, film poster research and some film poster analysis.

Poster 1 final draft after feedback

As we created a poster campaign, we had 3 different posters for our film. In our feedback we were told that Mr Vamping's head looked like it was 'Floating' Therefore the rest of his torso was added and enhanced the black on his cardigan a

nd embedded the whole layer. This makes him stand out from the background and look evil. A little pumpkin was added after also between the titles to add a representation of Halloween. The poster received some good feedback also; the audience commented on how it looks like a professional poster and contained all the codes and conventions of a children's mock horror film poster.

Poster 1 - developmental stages

The feedback we received for this poster was that the boys looked very effective with the posterized effect however the focus was being taken off of them because there was too much going on in the poster. We then took out the purple boarder to create more space and minimized the drop shadow behind the tag-line and names. The font for the tag-line was popular with the audience so we changed the Actors names to the same font. We also added Mr Vamping’s picture at the top of the poster and added an embed effect to give him a darker sinister look.
