As we began thinking of ideas about potential films we constructed individual mood boards on specific colours, at the time I thought to myself why cant we do it as a group but after we had finished I realised how all the groups ideas could not fit onto 1 mood board and it would be better to feedback to the other group members and see the differences and similarities you shared with your partners.
It was also good to see how we all branched away from the stereotypical representations…our group was given the colour black, now we all know the stereotypical connotations of black – death, hatred, evil, night time, space, black hole, aliens etc. but we also came up with some different ideas and examples of black expressions, we came up with poems about the colour black, music lyrics. Some other connotations were rock and roll, black heart, black rose, black power, black panther etc.
I believe this was a good task to undergo as it made us use our imaginations while widening our idea making/thought tracks. It allowed us to think of ideas and not just disregard them if they didn’t meet the stereotypical representations.
We could also link things in which may normally have been thought of doing.
