First meeting with cast
we decided that Rodney should be played by a year 9 student. This way we wouldn't have trouble going to the
At break everyone we asked to come came. We introduced the group, the title of our Production and a quick synopsis. I told them that commitment was highly needed and Filming would be from 7am-5pm, (which is what the Year 13 had last year). After this no one left and everyone was still interested. We split the cast up into groups for who would play each part. We then wrote down everyone’s names and contact details and told them that we would be in contact with them very soon and if they felt that they didn't want to take part, to let us know as soon as possible.
Below is a slide-show with some pictures we took for our day of auditions.
Not everyone who we wanted to come came but we had to continue anyway, we gave them scripts and Duniya began to go through it with them, we could see who we thought would get what roles by the individuals acting, confidence and ability to adapt to a character.
Due to the problem with Liam being not able to be Rodney we had to change the rehearsal plan.
While rehearsing we thought it would be best if we changed rolls between Charlie and Lewis as we thought Lewis would be a better Danny than Charlie. With the new cast members we had to inform them all of our Production.
Duniya introduced the crew again and our rolls and how each of us would help them in our production, (which was a new thing). Duniya directed the cast and built a strong relationship with them which would help them become comfortable with the production group and with there roles, in front of the camera and with other cast members. Naomi, as Sound, will make sure all cast members when rolling are heard properly and audibly without any distractions. Me as camera will make sure everything is in frame according to our story board and, alongside other members in Production; help the film to look good on screen. Laura, as continuity, will keep an eye out for mis en scene, lighting and the actors to ensure that there is continuity throughout the film.
Duniya then did a quick synopsis of the film and introduced all the cast to one another. She explained how shooting will be run and costume for all cast which they hadn't yet been told.
We then read through the script again while Duniya read stage directions. Naomi and Duniya acted out parts from scenes to help the actors to understand what we wanted (pictures in the slideshow).
We then on location. We arranged the classroom and went through the scene and re-did parts to perfection. This way we would just need to make sure.
we had another rehearsal which only Duniya from the crew attended and went through more of the script with the group. we had given each character a script and told them to be learning their lines while at home and in spare time they had.
